Our approach

This site runs no advertising and no cross-site tracking, and we never sell or share your data. We don't build a profile of your visit. It sets no cookies.

The site remembers whether you chose light or dark mode, stored in your own browser so it looks the same next time. It holds nothing but the word “light” or “dark”, and is never sent to us. If you use a switch on this page, that choice is kept in your browser in the same way.

Our typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts. To deliver them, your browser connects to Google's servers, which means Google receives your IP address. Google Fonts doesn't set cookies, and Google states it doesn't use this data to build advertising profiles. You can read more in Google's privacy policy. There are no embedded videos, maps, chat widgets, social buttons or tracking pixels anywhere on the site.

Counting visits

We count page views on our own server, so we know whether people are finding the site. It uses no cookies, stores nothing on your device, and nothing is passed to anyone else. We keep the page you viewed, the name of the site that linked you here, and whether you were on a phone, tablet or computer.

To tell one visitor from another within a day, the server combines your IP address and browser details with a secret that changes daily, and keeps only a one-way code made from them — never the address or the browser details themselves. Each day's secret is deleted the day after, so the codes can't be traced back to anyone, including by us, and visits on different days can't be connected. We keep these counts for 13 months.

Nothing in them identifies you, which is why this doesn't need your consent. You can still switch it off, and if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we don't count your visits at all.

What we collect

Through the contact form, we collect what you choose to give us: your name, email address, an optional company name, what you need help with, and your message. With it we record the IP address and browser the enquiry was sent from, used only to look into misuse of the form.

We use it for one purpose — to reply to your enquiry and, if we go on to work together, to discuss the work. We don't add you to a mailing list or share it with anyone outside Senmuru, beyond the companies that host this site and deliver our email, who act only on our instructions. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering an enquiry you started, and once we work together, our contract with you.

Like most web servers, ours also keeps short-lived access logs, including IP addresses, for security and reliability.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for up to 24 months, then delete them automatically. If we work together, the details the project needs are kept for the life of that engagement.

Your rights

To see, correct or delete any information we hold about you, or to object to how we use it, email [email protected]. We'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
